Do Dull, Boring Documents Crush Your Success?

It isn’t enough to HAVE design assets, you have to KNOW HOW to use them too!

Discover design layout, typography, and color secrets that will transform your documents from DRAB TO FAB and impress your audience!

It only takes 7 seconds for people to form a solid opinion of who you are…

In this current environment of  increased online interactions, those impressions are now based on your emails, reports, and presentations.

So how do you make those seconds count?

By drastically improving the impact of your work with easy-to implement graphic design principles that help you:

Sounds great, right?! But what if you’re not a graphic designer?

Between spouse, house, work, kids and/or the dog WHERE WILL I FIND THE TIME?

Many communication design programs are time intensive because they take you alllll the way back to the dinosaur age (literally!) to learn about cave drawings.

While it might result in some fun factoids for your next Zoom-room party, this isn’t high school (or college) anymore. You work hard to manage your time so you can continue to juggle all the things you do…

{If only there was a program that focused on the practical, real-life  stuff…}

To actually make beautiful designs I’d have to use COMPLICATED & COSTLY PROGRAMS

Common thought is you have to use the latest version of Adobe software to achieve design greatness. While certain projects definitely merit a professional touch, free products like Canva or PicMonkey, as well as everyday workplace software like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint have far greater capabilities than many realize.

{What could you create if someone just showed you how to infuse design techniques into the programs you already use and love?}

I am NOT creative and am self-declared

Most assume only artists are successful designers, but they are confusing two totally separate careers. Think of it as an artist and a gallery curator – one or many artists might create the artwork, but it is the curator who understands how to best combine, showcase, and inspire the public. Similarly, graphic design is more about combining elements such as type, photos, illustrations, and color to create effective messages – not necessarily creating those elements yourself. {Even if you draw stick elephants, what’s stopping you?}

Ready for some

What if I showed you that you don’t have to have a lot of time, money, or artistic talent to create FABULOUS designs?

SCIENCE: Studies show that while time and effort are factors of success, the outcome is more impacted by how you apply focus.

Unlike traditional classrooms, online learning is not held to the same schedules and semesters, so you can prioritize time and pace as it fits your lifestyle. Plus, by emphasizing practical design essentials (vs. the history of hieroglyphics)  you can laser focus on growth in areas that will give you the greatest results.

Some people love the rush of a big ‘ol cannonball, and that’s great! But, it is also completely OK (and recommended) to first increase your design-abilities before spending extra $$ to expand your program capabilities.

SCIENCE: Studies also show that those who work consistently at a comfortable pace are more likely to follow through, retain information, and achieve greater overall success.

SCIENCE(-ISH): There are almost as many types of design as there are specialties in medicine. Just like you would never expect a podiatrist (foot doctor) to perform brain surgery, a successful designer doesn’t have to excel in every single industry-related skill.

If your design goals and focus center on business communications content creation and/or marketing materials, a lack of art skills aren’t going to be a hindrance – I am living proof of it!

The only thing stopping you from creating fabulous designs is you!

I mean it when I say I've been there, done that and got this!

When I started my design journey, I was just like you – busy juggling family and work responsibilities while trying to move up the corporate ladder.

When I tried to expand my skills in the art realm, I was so TERRIBLE the instructor actually DISCOURAGED me from pursuing other art-related classes – ouch!

Fortunately, my story didn’t end there.

Art school was never going to happen, but I knew there had to be another way – I already had a degree, I didn’t want another one.
I eventually went to bat with a local college with a great communication design program and got clearance to skip two years of art prerequisites and jump straight into the second half of their communication design program…

And Today, I am the ultimate DRAB TO FAB story!

I am living proof that you don’t have to be artistic to be a great graphic designer. My signature drawing is still a stick-elephant, but I have lived at the corner of marketing and design for over a decade, cultivated a flourishing design business, and have helped thousands unleash their creative aspirations.

Now, I want to help all the non-creatives, artistically-challenged and hardworking professionals unleash their inner designer too – without the headache of fighting the higher learning education system…
